About Jason Hemmens
Jason Hemmens has been professionally involved in developing innovative recreation programs and facilities for a broad range of constituents for over 14 years. Currently, he serves as the Chief of Development for the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation, where he oversees the design and development of new facilities and park improvements and a multi-million dollar capital development budget and major maintenance budget.
He is an active member in numerous professional organizations in the recreation and tourism field and has presented on a range of topics to groups including national, regional, and local conferences and workshops. In the spring of 2008, he began teaching courses in the Recreation and Tourism Management Program at San Diego State University.
