About Crystal DeSoto

Crystal De Soto manages her own interpretive training and nature-based educational consulting business specializing in staff development for parks, museums, and aquariums. Crystal has 20 years of experience in frontline interpretation and program development sharing San Diego’s rich environmental and cultural heritage with the community. She has worked across the country as an interpreter including the islands of Guam and Hawaii.

Crystal has been a dedicated member of the National Association for Interpretation and has chaired two regional workshops in San Diego. She has personally certified 200 Interpretive Guides since becoming a trainer 5 years ago. Crystal is a faculty member for both San Diego State University’s Hospitality and Tourism programs as well as Point Loma Nazarene University. She has also earned the respected professional designations Certified Interpretive Trainer (CIT) and Certified Heritage Interpreter (CHI).
