Through a generous gift from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at San Diego State University created the Volunteer and Mentorship Center. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation set this up as a challenge grant asking other businesses to contribute to make this volunteer and mentorship center a reality.

Institute for Meetings and Events
The Institute for Meetings and Events was formed to create a place for the meetings and events industry to work together and partner with academia in a meaningful, real-world way. It is the first higher education institute of its kind, with a primary focus on education and research dedicated to the application of professional principles in meetings and events, shaping the future of the industry. The IME combines classroom learning with community application of successful practices and the execution of meetings and events. Through exciting partnerships with industry professionals, experiential learning opportunities and professional educators specializing in the field, San Diego State University equips students with the knowledge and experience to be experts in the field.

The Sycuan Institute on Tribal Gaming focuses on research, policy studies, and education related to the area of tribal gaming management. The Institute, centered in the largest tribal gaming community in the world, is geared to studying tribal gaming within the broader industry of hospitality and tourism management.
