High School Mentoring Programs
In association with the Conrad N. Hilton Mentorship Center the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management works with many local high schools to help the high school students prepare for college and/or a job upon high school graduation. Due to a generous grant from the Hilton Foundation, HTM is able to provide resources to assist with such mentoring programs. Our coordinator, Candy Flynn, cflynn@mail.sdsu.edu is available to assist with a variety of mentoring opportunities. Candy can also assist in setting up campus tours by coordinating with the Department of Admissions at SDSU.
A major initiative of the Conrad N. Hilton’s Mentorship Center is the Hospitality High School Conference. 400 students from 13 major high school programs come together for a half day conference highlighting career pathways in hospitality. A free job fair for employers looking for summer employees from San Diego County high schools is held during the conference too. More information about this conference is available from Brian Blake, bblake@projects.sdsu.edu. CRA & CH&LA are title sponsors each year and other sponsorship opportunities are available. |
