The dates for the International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show in New York City are November 7-11, 2009. As you may know the school tries to bring as many hospitality students as possible to New York to be a part of the festivities. This year, we are also trying to gather as many SDSU HTM alumni together in New York City too for the show! So far we have 11 alums confirmed!
We are planning to have an alumni event that weekend. Whether it is drinks at the Westin, a cocktail party at the Carlton Hotel - where alumna, Brooke Hall is offering a special rate - or beers and hotdogs at the NY Giants vs. Chargers game, it’s going to be a great weekend. Chargers tickets are available from about $150 each however we will also do a non football event too if that doesn’t sound like fun.
It will be a great opportunity for students and alumni to meet and network, especially for those who are already on the East Coast! Plus, it’s in New York City!
Airfare for a roundtrip is running at and a ridiculous low fare of $359 nonstop from SD - $339 from SFO, and only $309 from LAX. Southwest also flies via Chicago so use your award tickets!
If you work for a hotel, book a comp/discounted room NOW and cancel later if you can’t make it! Most of us will arrive Friday, November 6th for three nights.
